Join us for an insightful conversation with Helen Garcia, mental health therapist and the producer of the Yellow Chair Collective: An Asian American Mental Health Podcast. Whether you’re worried about a friend or family member in crisis, this event aims to empower you with the tools to have meaningful conversations about mental health in a culturally sensitive way. Dementia Friendly Homes: A Room-by-Room Guide (Dec. 12 @ 12 p.m. | Virtual)
In this program, Carrie, aka Dementia Darling, is an educator and advocate for the dementia community and for caregivers. In this session, she will guide caregivers through the steps of creating a positive and safe home environment for loved ones with dementia. Let’s Talk Dinero: Protect Your Money from Holiday Scams (Dec. 12 @ 12 p.m. | Virtual)
Join us for a conversation with Jason Collom, a fraud-prevention specialist who recently retired from the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, about some of the most common scams during the holiday season. Online Movie Screening: ‘Thelma’ (Dec. 13 – Dec. 15 | Virtual)
Join us to watch an online movie screening of Thelma, a comedy starring June Squibb, Richard Roundtree and Fred Hechinger. When 93-year-old Thelma Post gets duped by a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson, she sets out on a treacherous quest across Los Angeles to reclaim what was taken from her. While we don’t recommend Thelma’s tactics, we do encourage you to learn how you can protect yourself and loved ones from frauds and scams. Register HERE.
