Clear Lake State Park
Located in elk country, Clear Lake State Park is a quiet, secluded retreat offering a sandy beach and a shallow swimming area that is ideal for children. The park encompasses 2/3 of the Clear Lake's shoreline. The fall season with the changing colors is an especially beautiful time to view the area.
ActivitiesBoat Rental: Canoes, kayaks and rowboats are available to rent. Call 989-785-4388 for more information.Cross Country Ski: From the park there is access to more than 70 miles of trails suitable for cross-country skiing.Disc Golf: The course consists of nine holes, with the most difficult hole being a 429 foot par four. A universally accessible gravel walking path connects each hole along the courseFishing: The 133-acre Clear Lake is spring fed and has a depth of 100 feet. A variety of fish species have been planted and the lake is excellent for trout and smallmouth bass.Hiking: From the park there is access to more than 70 miles of hiking trails.Mountain Biking: The Canada Creek trail loop provides about four miles of mountain biking opportunities in addition to nearby forest pathways. The trails are shared with hikers in the park.Off-Road Vehicle Trails/Routes: Clear Lake State Park has opened a trail spur that offers off-road vehicle (ORV) riders a direct connection to the Atlanta ORV route and the Michigan Cross Country Cycle Trail.PaddlingSwimming: A sandy beach and shallow swimming areas make this an ideal location for swimming.Watchable Wildlife: The 48.5-mile scenic drive afford an opportunities to see deer, elk, black bear, snowshoes hare, fox, coyote, racoon, squirrel, ruffed grouse, bald eagle, loon and great blue heron. Call 989-785-4388 for more information.Cross Country Ski: From the park there is access to more than 70 miles of trails suitable for cross-country skiing.Disc Golf: The course consists of nine holes, with the most difficult hole being a 429 foot par four. A universally accessible gravel walking path connects each hole along the courseFishing: The 133-acre Clear Lake is spring fed and has a depth of 100 feet. A variety of fish species have been planted and the lake is excellent for trout and smallmouth bass.Hiking: From the park there is access to more than 70 miles of hiking trails.Mountain Biking: The Canada Creek trail loop provides about four miles of mountain biking opportunities in addition to nearby forest pathways. The trails are shared with hikers in the park.Off-Road Vehicle Trails/Routes: Clear Lake State Park has opened a trail spur that offers off-road vehicle (ORV) riders a direct connection to the Atlanta ORV route and the Michigan Cross Country Cycle Trail.PaddlingSwimming: A sandy beach and shallow swimming areas make this an ideal location for swimming.Watchable Wildlife: The 48.5-mile scenic drive afford an opportunities to see deer, elk, black bear, snowshoes hare, fox, coyote, racoon, squirrel, ruffed grouse, bald eagle, loon and great blue heron. A universally accessible gravel walking path connects each hole along the courseFishing: The 133-acre Clear Lake is spring fed and has a depth of 100 feet. A variety of fish species have been planted and the lake is excellent for trout and smallmouth bass.Hiking: From the park there is access to more than 70 miles of hiking trails.Mountain Biking: The Canada Creek trail loop provides about four miles of mountain biking opportunities in addition to nearby forest pathways. The trails are shared with hikers in the park.Off-Road Vehicle Trails/Routes: Clear Lake State Park has opened a trail spur that offers off-road vehicle (ORV) riders a direct connection to the Atlanta ORV route and the Michigan Cross Country Cycle Trail.PaddlingSwimming: A sandy beach and shallow swimming areas make this an ideal location for swimming.Watchable Wildlife: The 48.5-mile scenic drive afford an opportunities to see deer, elk, black bear, snowshoes hare, fox, coyote, racoon, squirrel, ruffed grouse, bald eagle, loon and great blue heron. A universally accessible gravel walking path connects each hole along the courseFishing: The 133-acre Clear Lake is spring fed and has a depth of 100 feet. A variety of fish species have been planted and the lake is excellent for trout and smallmouth bass.Hiking: From the park there is access to more than 70 miles of hiking trails.Mountain Biking: The Canada Creek trail loop provides about four miles of mountain biking opportunities in addition to nearby forest pathways. A universally accessible gravel walking path connects each hole along the courseFishing: The 133-acre Clear Lake is spring fed and has a depth of 100 feet. A variety of fish species have been planted and the lake is excellent for trout and smallmouth bass.Hiking: From the park there is access to more than 70 miles of hiking trails.Mountain Biking: The Canada Creek trail loop provides about four miles of mountain biking opportunities in addition to nearby forest pathways.
