Located along the banks of the Tennessee River in Northeast Alabama, Lake Guntersville Resort State Park promises to satisfy whether you are looking for a resort style retreat or an outdoor adventure in the park’s 6,000 acres of natural woodlands. Beach ComplexOur sandy beach is maintained daily and is a friendly refuge to many families. No animals, glass, or grills are allowed on the beach. Beach hours are sunrise to to sunset. The Dirt Pass will help fund that revitalization. Ken Thomas has been and will continue setting priorities for existing trail maintenance and the development of new trails that will benefit hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers, horseback riders, and Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) enthusiasts in select locations.Since the opening of the first state parks in Alabama, trails have been a fundamental part of the park system’s mission to provide and maintain outdoor recreational opportunities. In addition to promoting a variety of health benefits, one of the best ways to protect and preserve state parks is to have visitors engaging with the trails.Boat Rentals at Town CreekTown Creek Fishing Center is located on Lake Guntersville near the mouth of Town Creek on Alabama Hwy 227. We offer two boat ramps, flat bottom, canoe, pontoon, and bass boat rentals, as well as a gas pump on the water for your personal use. Town Creek has an accessible fishing pier, and a fully stocked store for snacks, beer, ice, drinks, and all your fishing needs.CampingCamping at Lake Guntersville State Park offers many options for the happy camper. Whether camping in an RV or a tent, customers can enjoy two campgrounds (Lake Guntersville State Park Campground or Town Creek Campground). The main campground is tucked at the bottom of Taylor Mountain along the banks of Lake Guntersville. It includes 65 water and electric sites, 100 plus primitive sites, and 229 electric, water, and sewage hookups.Town Creek Campground houses campsites along the lake shore for primmitive and boondock camping. Lake Guntersville State Park Campground is well equipped with the Country Store, tackle and bait, modern day bath-houses, the Gathering Place (avaialble rental for campters), a nature center, an outdoor classroom, tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball courts, a pavilion, fishing pier and cleaning station, transient dock, access to the beach annex, boat rentals, and RV storage. The Town Creek Fishing Center currently only houses primitive and boon dock camping with (plans to upgrade in the future) two boat ramps, bathhouses, the Fishing Center Store, boat rentals, tackle & bait, and seasonal housing of majestic eagles and their watchers. Combine these attributes with The Eagle's Nest Golf Course, The Screaming Eagle Zip Lines, Lake Guntersville State Park Lodge, and the many miles of trails and this destination holds something for those of all ages. Alabama's largest lake contains 69,100 acres and stretches 75 miles from Nickajack Dam to Guntersville Dam. Free boat ramps and private marinas dot the lake's perimeter. Fishing, boating, camping, hunting and eagle watching are popular sports in the area. Eagle watching centers on Guntersville State Park and the dam during the winter, though some bald eagles stay all year. Guntersville's fish habitat includes milfoil and hydrilla weed beds from which big bass explode on topwater baits.Though most noted nationally for large bass, Lake Guntersville is home to quality angling for a variety of fish. Historically, about two-thirds of the anglers on Lake Guntersville target largemouth bass, although bream, bluegill, redear sunfish and longear sunfish, crappie, sauger and catfish attract their fair share of anglers.

It includes 65 water and electric sites, 100 plus primitive sites, and 229 electric, water, and sewage hookups.Town Creek Campground houses campsites along the lake shore for primmitive and boondock camping. The Dirt Pass will help fund that revitalization. Ken Thomas has been and will continue setting priorities for existing trail maintenance and the development of new trails that will benefit hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers, horseback riders, and Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) enthusiasts in select locations.Since the opening of the first state parks in Alabama, trails have been a fundamental part of the park system’s mission to provide and maintain outdoor recreational opportunities. In addition to promoting a variety of health benefits, one of the best ways to protect and preserve state parks is to have visitors engaging with the trails.Boat Rentals at Town CreekTown Creek Fishing Center is located on Lake Guntersville near the mouth of Town Creek on Alabama Hwy 227. We offer two boat ramps, flat bottom, canoe, pontoon, and bass boat rentals, as well as a gas pump on the water for your personal use. Town Creek has an accessible fishing pier, and a fully stocked store for snacks, beer, ice, drinks, and all your fishing needs.CampingCamping at Lake Guntersville State Park offers many options for the happy camper. Whether camping in an RV or a tent, customers can enjoy two campgrounds (Lake Guntersville State Park Campground or Town Creek Campground). The main campground is tucked at the bottom of Taylor Mountain along the banks of Lake Guntersville. It includes 65 water and electric sites, 100 plus primitive sites, and 229 electric, water, and sewage hookups.Town Creek Campground houses campsites along the lake shore for primmitive and boondock camping. Lake Guntersville State Park Campground is well equipped with the Country Store, tackle and bait, modern day bath-houses, the Gathering Place (avaialble rental for campters), a nature center, an outdoor classroom, tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball courts, a pavilion, fishing pier and cleaning station, transient dock, access to the beach annex, boat rentals, and RV storage. The Town Creek Fishing Center currently only houses primitive and boon dock camping with (plans to upgrade in the future) two boat ramps, bathhouses, the Fishing Center Store, boat rentals, tackle & bait, and seasonal housing of majestic eagles and their watchers. Combine these attributes with The Eagle's Nest Golf Course, The Screaming Eagle Zip Lines, Lake Guntersville State Park Lodge, and the many miles of trails and this destination holds something for those of all ages. Alabama's largest lake contains 69,100 acres and stretches 75 miles from Nickajack Dam to Guntersville Dam. Free boat ramps and private marinas dot the lake's perimeter. Fishing, boating, camping, hunting and eagle watching are popular sports in the area. Eagle watching centers on Guntersville State Park and the dam during the winter, though some bald eagles stay all year. Guntersville's fish habitat includes milfoil and hydrilla weed beds from which big bass explode on topwater baits.Though most noted nationally for large bass, Lake Guntersville is home to quality angling for a variety of fish. Town Creek has an accessible fishing pier, and a fully stocked store for snacks, beer, ice, drinks, and all your fishing needs.CampingCamping at Lake Guntersville State Park offers many options for the happy camper. Whether camping in an RV or a tent, customers can enjoy two campgrounds (Lake Guntersville State Park Campground or Town Creek Campground). The main campground is tucked at the bottom of Taylor Mountain along the banks of Lake Guntersville. It includes 65 water and electric sites, 100 plus primitive sites, and 229 electric, water, and sewage hookups.Town Creek Campground houses campsites along the lake shore for primmitive and boondock camping. Lake Guntersville State Park Campground is well equipped with the Country Store, tackle and bait, modern day bath-houses, the Gathering Place (avaialble rental for campters), a nature center, an outdoor classroom, tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball courts, a pavilion, fishing pier and cleaning station, transient dock, access to the beach annex, boat rentals, and RV storage. The Town Creek Fishing Center currently only houses primitive and boon dock camping with (plans to upgrade in the future) two boat ramps, bathhouses, the Fishing Center Store, boat rentals, tackle & bait, and seasonal housing of majestic eagles and their watchers. Alabama's largest lake contains 69,100 acres and stretches 75 miles from Nickajack Dam to Guntersville Dam. Free boat ramps and private marinas dot the lake's perimeter. Fishing, boating, camping, hunting and eagle watching are popular sports in the area. Eagle watching centers on Guntersville State Park and the dam during the winter, though some bald eagles stay all year. Guntersville's fish habitat includes milfoil and hydrilla weed beds from which big bass explode on topwater baits.Though most noted nationally for large bass, Lake Guntersville is home to quality angling for a variety of fish. Whether camping in an RV or a tent, customers can enjoy two campgrounds (Lake Guntersville State Park Campground or Town Creek Campground). The main campground is tucked at the bottom of Taylor Mountain along the banks of Lake Guntersville. It includes 65 water and electric sites, 100 plus primitive sites, and 229 electric, water, and sewage hookups.Town Creek Campground houses campsites along the lake shore for primmitive and boondock camping. Lake Guntersville State Park Campground is well equipped with the Country Store, tackle and bait, modern day bath-houses, the Gathering Place (avaialble rental for campters), a nature center, an outdoor classroom, tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball courts, a pavilion, fishing pier and cleaning station, transient dock, access to the beach annex, boat rentals, and RV storage. The Town Creek Fishing Center currently only houses primitive and boon dock camping with (plans to upgrade in the future) two boat ramps, bathhouses, the Fishing Center Store, boat rentals, tackle & bait, and seasonal housing of majestic eagles and their watchers. Alabama's largest lake contains 69,100 acres and stretches 75 miles from Nickajack Dam to Guntersville Dam. Free boat ramps and private marinas dot the lake's perimeter. Fishing, boating, camping, hunting and eagle watching are popular sports in the area. Eagle watching centers on Guntersville State Park and the dam during the winter, though some bald eagles stay all year. Guntersville's fish habitat includes milfoil and hydrilla weed beds from which big bass explode on topwater baits.Though most noted nationally for large bass, Lake Guntersville is home to quality angling for a variety of fish.
