About Us

Yaeger's Farm Market was established in 1967 by David Yaeger. He began with a small 10 foot by 12 foot greenhouse in which he grew plants for his mother. The operation quickly expanded, and he added fresh grown vegetables in addition to the flower business. In 1977, he built the farm market building that is still being used today. For the convenience of the customers and staff, he erected the two large greenhouses that are connected to the farm market.

In 1990, the second generation came on board as Dave's nephew, Mark, took over farming several hundred acres of row crops, corn and soybeans, raising the fruit and vegetables, and helping with the greenhouse operations. In 2003, Mark took over management of the operation.

In the spring as the weather is slowly changing, the greenhouses at Yaeger's Farm Market and Greenhouse are bursting with homegrown vegetable plants and flowering plants. We offer Proven Winners plants, geraniums, traditional annual flowering plants, vegetable plants, and perenials. As you walk in to the greenhouses, look up and you will see hanging baskets exploding with colorful plants while along the floor you will find several different beautifully potted flowers. All are waiting to find a home. If you cannot find baskets or containers to your liking, we will plant them for you.

We pride ourselves in being able to raise quality plants in a controlled environment. This helps the plants to maintain their fresh appearance and respond well when transferred to your garden. Our plants are not placed outside to face the elements until just the right time.

At our farm market, we have always offered customers a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. We have an excellent reputation for our bi-color sweet corn. Our homegrown vegetables and fruit start in late April with asparagus. The rhubarb, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, onions, green beans, beets, potatoes, squash (fall and summer), muskmelons, peppers, cabbage, gourds, and pumpkins follow throughout the seasons. In all we grow 40 acres of fruit and vegetables throughout the different seasons. You will definitely be able to taste the difference between warehouse-delivered and fresh-picked produce!

If we cannot grow it, then we will find the best produce possible. We have friendships built with highly reputable growers to help supply peaches, apples, watermelon, muskmelon, nectarines, off-season tomatoes, blueberries, strawberries, and other fruit. Most are picked fresh and delivered to us within 24 hours, with no warehousing.

As the days grow shorter, the temperature starts to cool, and our homegrown hardy mums begin to bloom, we begin preparations for our Fall Festival. We cut the corn maze, set up the Harvest Playland, stack pumpkins on the lawn, bundle corn stalks all in an effort to transform the farm into a fall paradise.

October is one of the most beautiful times of the year. When you come to Yaeger's do not be in a hurry. On the weekends you can enjoy a hayride through the field of corn that leads to the hidden pumpkin patch. Upon arriving at the sea of orange pumpkins you will be dropped off at the Orange County Depot. From there you can wander the acres of pumpkins to find just the right one.

If the weather is right, and your kids want to play, come on in to Harvest Playland. Inside you will be able to explore our 4-acre corn maze, play on the straw pyramid, climb in the wooden castle, jump in the bounce house, crawl through the castle maze, see the farm animals, run around or just sit and relax at the picnic tables (parents like this one). Birthday parties, church groups, boy scout or girl scout groups, or any other groups are welcomed. Just give us a call ahead of time to set a date.

The farm market is surrounded by large flowering hardy mums, corn stalk bundles, and piles of straw bales that are for sale. Once inside the store you will find many decorations suited for the fall season. Gourds, pumpkin gourds, Indian corn tied in bundles, loose Indian corn and several fall craft items await you.

If you are hungry, we offer numerous varieties of apples as well as mouth-watering caramel apples.

We invite you to take a trip into the country and see what we have to offer. Customer Satisfaction is always our #1 objective and our products are 100% satisfaction guaranteed.
