Caregiving is a deeply fulfilling role, but it can also take a significant toll—emotionally, physically, and financially. Many caregivers devote all their energy to the immediate needs of their loved ones, often putting their own financial security and wellbeing on the back burner. AARP Florida is here to help change that.

In partnership with the Women’s Institute for a Secure Retirement (WISER), AARP Florida invites caregivers to an upcoming workshop focused on financial caregiving. This essential workshop is designed to provide the tools, knowledge, and confidence caregivers need to plan for a secure financial future while continuing to support those they care for.

We’ll discuss the financial implications of caregiving and share resources and assistance available to lighten the load.
  2. Planning for Emergencies and Preventing Unnecessary Debt Life can be unpredictable, especially for caregivers who already juggle many responsibilities. Learn how to build a financial safety net and prepare for emergencies so you can avoid the stress of unexpected costs and debts.
  3. Saving for Your Retirement by Maximizing Available Resources Balancing the present and future can be challenging, especially when caring for loved ones. Discover strategies to ensure your retirement is financially sound by leveraging resources available to caregivers today.
  4. Avoiding Common Money Mistakes Managing finances while caregiving is complex, and even small errors can have a big impact over time. We’ll cover some of the most common financial missteps and offer advice on how to avoid them.
  5. Understanding Your Options with Social Security Benefits Social Security can be a valuable asset, but the system is often difficult to navigate. We’ll clarify Social Security options, helping you make informed decisions that align with your financial goals.
