Lima Historical Society

Mission:

Lima Historical Society was founded to collect and preserve Lima’s history, its architectural structures, and its culture to educate and inspire people today and tomorrow.

About Us:

The Lima Historical Society, formally organized in 1972, is made up of a diverse group of individuals of various ages, backgrounds, and interests. The common denominator is the desire to preserve and pass on the memory of Lima’s history, and to help protect the small-town historic character of the town.

The Historical Society operates the Tennie Burton Museum located at 1850 Rochester Street in Lima. The museum is open on Sundays, June thru September, from 2:00 to 4:00pm or by special appointment. A large collection of records, photos, books, and objects relating to the town’s history are stored and cared for by a dedicated group of volunteers. The museum houses permanent and rotating exhibits. You may make special arrangements for research of our historic families, organization and building files, as well as tours throughout the year. 

Members of the society also consult with and provide information to the Lima Historian, the Lima Historic Preservation Commission, and the Lima Planning Board as requested. In addition, they offer assistance to the members of the public doing genealogical and other types of research and they provide occasional museum internships for qualified high school and college students.

<p style="text-align: justify;">Lima Historical Society was founded to collect and preserve Lima&rsquo;s history, its architectural structures, and its culture to educate and inspire people today and tomorrow.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">About Us:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Lima Historical Society, formally organized in 1972, is made up of a diverse group of individuals of various ages, backgrounds, and interests. The common denominator is the desire to preserve and pass on the memory of Lima&rsquo;s history, and to help protect the small-town historic character of the town.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Historical Society operates the Tennie Burton Museum located at 1850 Rochester Street in Lima. The museum is open on Sundays, June thru September, from 2:00 to 4:00pm or by special appointment. A large collection of records, photos, books, and objects relating to the town&rsquo;s history are stored and cared for by a dedicated group of volunteers. The museum houses permanent and rotating exhibits. You may make special arrangements for research of our historic families, organization and building files, as well as tours throughout the year.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Members of the society also consult with and provide information to the Lima Historian, the Lima Historic Preservation Commission, and the Lima Planning Board as requested. In addition, they offer assistance to the members of the public doing genealogical and other types of research and they provide occasional museum internships for qualified high school and college students.</p>		</div>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Lima Historical Society was founded to collect and preserve Lima&rsquo;s history, its architectural structures, and its culture to educate and inspire people today and tomorrow.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">About Us:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Lima Historical Society, formally organized in 1972, is made up of a diverse group of individuals of various ages, backgrounds, and interests. The common denominator is the desire to preserve and pass on the memory of Lima&rsquo;s history, and to help protect the small-town historic character of the town.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Historical Society operates the Tennie Burton Museum located at 1850 Rochester Street in Lima. The museum is open on Sundays, June thru September, from 2:00 to 4:00pm or by special appointment. A large collection of records, photos, books, and objects relating to the town&rsquo;s history are stored and cared for by a dedicated group of volunteers. The museum houses permanent and rotating exhibits. You may make special arrangements for research of our historic families, organization and building files, as well as tours throughout the year.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Members of the society also consult with and provide information to the Lima Historian, the Lima Historic Preservation Commission, and the Lima Planning Board as requested. In addition, they offer assistance to the members of the public doing genealogical and other types of research and they provide occasional museum internships for qualified high school and college students.</p>		</div>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Lima Historical Society was founded to collect and preserve Lima&rsquo;s history, its architectural structures, and its culture to educate and inspire people today and tomorrow.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">About Us:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Lima Historical Society, formally organized in 1972, is made up of a diverse group of individuals of various ages, backgrounds, and interests. The common denominator is the desire to preserve and pass on the memory of Lima&rsquo;s history, and to help protect the small-town historic character of the town.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Historical Society operates the Tennie Burton Museum located at 1850 Rochester Street in Lima. The museum is open on Sundays, June thru September, from 2:00 to 4:00pm or by special appointment. A large collection of records, photos, books, and objects relating to the town&rsquo;s history are stored and cared for by a dedicated group of volunteers. The museum houses permanent and rotating exhibits. You may make special arrangements for research of our historic families, organization and building files, as well as tours throughout the year.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Members of the society also consult with and provide information to the Lima Historian, the Lima Historic Preservation Commission, and the Lima Planning Board as requested. In addition, they offer assistance to the members of the public doing genealogical and other types of research and they provide occasional museum internships for qualified high school and college students.</p>		</div>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Lima Historical Society was founded to collect and preserve Lima&rsquo;s history, its architectural structures, and its culture to educate and inspire people today and tomorrow.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">About Us:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Lima Historical Society, formally organized in 1972, is made up of a diverse group of individuals of various ages, backgrounds, and interests. The common denominator is the desire to preserve and pass on the memory of Lima&rsquo;s history, and to help protect the small-town historic character of the town.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Historical Society operates the Tennie Burton Museum located at 1850 Rochester Street in Lima. The museum is open on Sundays, June thru September, from 2:00 to 4:00pm or by special appointment. A large collection of records, photos, books, and objects relating to the town&rsquo;s history are stored and cared for by a dedicated group of volunteers. The museum houses permanent and rotating exhibits. You may make special arrangements for research of our historic families, organization and building files, as well as tours throughout the year.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Members of the society also consult with and provide information to the Lima Historian, the Lima Historic Preservation Commission, and the Lima Planning Board as requested. In addition, they offer assistance to the members of the public doing genealogical and other types of research and they provide occasional museum internships for qualified high school and college students.</p>		</div>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Lima Historical Society was founded to collect and preserve Lima&rsquo;s history, its architectural structures, and its culture to educate and inspire people today and tomorrow.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">About Us:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Lima Historical Society, formally organized in 1972, is made up of a diverse group of individuals of various ages, backgrounds, and interests. The common denominator is the desire to preserve and pass on the memory of Lima&rsquo;s history, and to help protect the small-town historic character of the town.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Historical Society operates the Tennie Burton Museum located at 1850 Rochester Street in Lima. The museum is open on Sundays, June thru September, from 2:00 to 4:00pm or by special appointment. A large collection of records, photos, books, and objects relating to the town&rsquo;s history are stored and cared for by a dedicated group of volunteers. The museum houses permanent and rotating exhibits. You may make special arrangements for research of our historic families, organization and building files, as well as tours throughout the year.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Members of the society also consult with and provide information to the Lima Historian, the Lima Historic Preservation Commission, and the Lima Planning Board as requested. In addition, they offer assistance to the members of the public doing genealogical and other types of research and they provide occasional museum internships for qualified high school and college students.</p>		</div>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Lima Historical Society was founded to collect and preserve Lima&rsquo;s history, its architectural structures, and its culture to educate and inspire people today and tomorrow.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">About Us:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Lima Historical Society, formally organized in 1972, is made up of a diverse group of individuals of various ages, backgrounds, and interests. The common denominator is the desire to preserve and pass on the memory of Lima&rsquo;s history, and to help protect the small-town historic character of the town.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Historical Society operates the Tennie Burton Museum located at 1850 Rochester Street in Lima. The museum is open on Sundays, June thru September, from 2:00 to 4:00pm or by special appointment. A large collection of records, photos, books, and objects relating to the town&rsquo;s history are stored and cared for by a dedicated group of volunteers. The museum houses permanent and rotating exhibits. You may make special arrangements for research of our historic families, organization and building files, as well as tours throughout the year.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Members of the society also consult with and provide information to the Lima Historian, the Lima Historic Preservation Commission, and the Lima Planning Board as requested. In addition, they offer assistance to the members of the public doing genealogical and other types of research and they provide occasional museum internships for qualified high school and college students.</p>		</div>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Lima Historical Society was founded to collect and preserve Lima&rsquo;s history, its architectural structures, and its culture to educate and inspire people today and tomorrow.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">About Us:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Lima Historical Society, formally organized in 1972, is made up of a diverse group of individuals of various ages, backgrounds, and interests. The common denominator is the desire to preserve and pass on the memory of Lima&rsquo;s history, and to help protect the small-town historic character of the town.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Historical Society operates the Tennie Burton Museum located at 1850 Rochester Street in Lima. The museum is open on Sundays, June thru September, from 2:00 to 4:00pm or by special appointment. A large collection of records, photos, books, and objects relating to the town&rsquo;s history are stored and cared for by a dedicated group of volunteers. The museum houses permanent and rotating exhibits. You may make special arrangements for research of our historic families, organization and building files, as well as tours throughout the year.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Members of the society also consult with and provide information to the Lima Historian, the Lima Historic Preservation Commission, and the Lima Planning Board as requested. In addition, they offer assistance to the members of the public doing genealogical and other types of research and they provide occasional museum internships for qualified high school and college students.</p>		</div>
